About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Shays Tools website and the free tools on it. Shays Tools is operated by Joanne Wells trading as Shays Media. Shays Tools is a digital products brand, not a separate legal entity. By using the site you agree to these terms.

What the tools are, and are not
The tools are free planning aids. They carry out the calculations described on each tool page, using the figures you enter.
- They are general information. They are not financial, accounting, tax or legal advice, and they do not take your full circumstances into account.
- Each tool uses a simplified model with stated assumptions. Read the assumptions and limits on the tool page before relying on a result.
- A result is only as accurate as the figures entered. The tools cannot check that your figures are right.
- The tools do not predict outcomes. Where a tool asks for an estimate, such as expected sales, the estimate is yours.
You are responsible for the business decisions you make. For decisions with significant consequences, consider taking advice from a qualified professional.
Accuracy and availability
We take care to make the tools correct and test them against worked examples, but we do not promise that the site or the tools will be free of errors, or always available. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice. If you find a mistake, please tell us at tools@shaysmedia.co.uk.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, for example liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, the tools and their results are provided free of charge on an informational basis, and we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on a result where checking your own figures or taking individually tailored advice was reasonably required instead.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
Using the site
- You may use the tools for your own business or personal purposes.
- You must not misuse the site, for example by attempting to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access to it, or use it unlawfully.
- Unless stated otherwise, the text, design and code of the site are owned by Joanne Wells trading as Shays Media, or are used under licence. “Shays Tools” and “Shays Media” are trading names. You may link to any page, but you must not copy or republish the tools or content as your own.
Links to other websites
The site links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content of websites we do not operate. The Shays Media website is run by the same operator but is separate from Shays Tools, and these terms do not cover it.
Privacy
The privacy policy and cookie policy explain how information is handled.
Complaints
If you want to make a complaint about Shays Tools, email tools@shaysmedia.co.uk with a clear description of the issue, the tool or page involved, any relevant dates, and what you would like us to consider or resolve. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
We will acknowledge and review your concern promptly, explain any next steps, and provide a substantive response as soon as reasonably practicable.

Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the current one.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, including non-contractual disputes, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any such dispute. If you are a consumer, you may also be able to bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
