About Shays Tools

What this site is for

Running a small business means making a steady stream of decisions with numbers attached. Should we run this discount? What does this order need to be worth? Most of them do not need software or a consultant. They need the right sum, set out clearly.

Shays Tools is a collection of free tools that each do one of those sums. You enter your own figures and get an answer in plain English, along with how it was worked out.

How the tools are built

• One question each. A tool that tries to do everything is harder to trust and slower to use.
• The method is on the page. Every tool shows its formulas, a worked example and its assumptions, so you can check the answer yourself.
• No invented benchmarks. The tools do not tell you what a “good” margin or target is. You supply your own.
• Your figures stay in your browser. Calculations run on your device. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored.
• No sign-up for a free answer. You get the complete result without giving an email address.

Who runs it

Shays Tools is operated by Joanne Wells trading as Shays Media. Shays Tools is a digital products brand, not a separate legal entity. Under the Shays Media name, the same operator also runs an agency that manages ChatGPT Ads. Shays Tools has its own site, and you do not need to be a Shays Media client to use anything here.
